Gear checklist for car camping

Most camping we do is car camping as opposed to backpacking. This is a general list for use with such events as Cuboree where we can drop off gear at the camp site. These items are suggestions only.

  • Tarp - tuck under tent so it does not catch rain
  • Tent with stakes and rain fly - Usually a 4 man tent size is appropriate but I have seen some taj mahals too. Adults are only allowed in tents with their own child.
  • Sleeping bag - 10 to 20 degree rating below expected low temps. A 30 - 40 degree bag would work in November.
